Our values
Our curriculum is designed not only to develop trainees’ technical proficiency but also to shape their professional beliefs, embedding a deep commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion. Leaders and those responsible for overseeing the ITE provision take deliberate and systematic action to ensure that inclusion is universally understood and embedded across all aspects of the programme.
To achieve this, our ITT provision is intentionally designed to be Inclusive, Informed, Intentional and Impactful, ensuring that the Early Career Teachers who train with us demonstrate these same attributes in their professional practice.

Inclusive |
Inclusion is a golden thread running through our recruitment, curriculum and trainee support. We actively promote diversity in our trainee intake and ensure timely academic and wellbeing support so all our trainees can thrive. |
Our trainees develop an inclusive mindset and a strong commitment to equity, diversity and social justice, recognising inclusion as a professional responsibility to remove barriers to learning. |
|
Informed |
Our training model is grounded securely in the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF) and shaped by the best available research from cognitive science and subject-specific pedagogy. |
Our trainees become knowledgeable and skilful educators whose grounding in educational theory and learning science enables them to secure long-term pupil learning. |
|
Intentional |
Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to provide a coherent journey from novice to expert through structured study, targeted instructional coaching and deliberate practice. |
Our trainees plan and teach with deliberate intent to sequence knowledge, manage cognitive load and maximise pupil progress. |
|
Impactful |
We work in close partnership with schools across our region to develop highly effective Early Career Teachers and to support the recruitment and retention needs of Hull and the East Riding. |
Our trainees grow into transformative professionals with the adaptive expertise to adjust their practice to meet the diverse needs of learners while maintaining high expectations for all. |
