Steplab

We are proud to integrate Steplab into the VNHTT Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. Steplab is a leading platform for instructional coaching that is grounded in the latest research on teacher development and cognitive science. Its approach helps our trainees understand what effective teaching looks like and why particular strategies work, ensuring that their classroom practice is built on a strong foundation of evidence-informed pedagogy.

As part of the Vantage curriculum, our trainees engage with carefully sequenced Steplab study modules that explore key teaching techniques and the research behind them. These modules combine clear explanations, practical classroom examples and video models to help trainees connect theory with practice. This allows them to develop the professional knowledge and understanding needed to apply teaching strategies thoughtfully and effectively in real classrooms.

Steplab also supports regular instructional coaching, enabling trainees to receive focused feedback and practise specific techniques through structured coaching cycles. By working on manageable improvement steps and rehearsing new strategies with the guidance of mentors, trainees develop their classroom practice in a purposeful and sustainable way. Integrating Steplab into our programme ensures that trainees benefit from a coherent, research-informed system designed to support their growth into confident and effective teachers.
